Mission
Here at The Melbourne Coffee Water Company, we’re not very good at naming things. That’s why we do what we’re called: we make specialized water for your coffee machine to recreate the exceptional coffee flavour profile found in only the most hipster’esk cafes in Melbourne Australia. The ones where all the barristers have an unhealthy caffeine addiction, one or preferably two top-knots, and a series of tattoos depicting obscure historical coffee-bean varieties from a country which only members of the coffee-bean illuminati can spell.
In reality we’re a bunch of ex-pat Australian coffee lovers who couldn’t find a decent brew in America. Even when we matched the beans, grind, roast, water-weight, coffee-machine, extraction pressure, moon-phase and barrister’s zodiac-sign, our coffee still tasted like swill. More aptly, it tasted like coffee-swill the devil would make if he was trying to torture a particularly annoying, loud and overly-opinionated top-knotted coffee hipster.
Realizing the only thing we were not recreating was the water source, we embarked on a brazen attempt to smuggle a bottle of Melbourne tap water into these United States! Sadly, and to the TSA’s credit, this did not work. And I feel I should take this opportunity to publicly apologise to the TSA agent at whom I ugly-cried when I was politely asked to empty my water bottle at security pre-check (I’m not proud of this).
Anyway, we were getting desperate so cracked out our high-school chemistry textbook, did some #science, and the Melbourne Coffee Water Company was born.
By combining pure water with natural minerals found in Australia’s pristine water catchments and drinking water, we have created a coffee brewing water which brings out the rich, smooth and delicious flavour of your favourite bean. Optimized for espresso, we hope you will enjoy that which we have spent waaayyy too much time perfecting for the people who love coffee.
